Assisted, but not automatic!
|
First of all: no, I do not use "automatic" translation software such as Systran or Power Translator Pro. To assist in translation,
I use a
handful of CAT tools such as Trados, Wordfast,
Star Transit and DVX. That means I can deal with virtually any file format. Trados, for instance, can assist in the translation of all MS Office
files, as well as Adobe PageMaker, QuarkXPress, Adobe FrameMaker and most
tagged files (such as HTML). |
Not only can I deal with these formats, but I also own the original software in case minor
adjustments are needed by editing the source file itself. Documents in PDF are
also accepted, as well as hardcopy.
